Christmas is already over..

 Well I always build up the excitement for Christmas, I think I forget how fast it comes and goes.  It was mine and Jake's first Christmas together.  It was so fun, I think it's safe to say we both got spoiled;)  Not only did he spoil me, but his grandpararents and parents as well.  Jake woke up about 6 o clock and would not go back to sleep, he was so anxious just like a little kid to see what else he had gotten.  I would have been fine to sleep for another 2 hours or so.  We both woke up though...AT SIX and had our own little Christmas.  It was so fun!

    After we were done, we headed out to his parents and exchanged with them.  Hung out for a little while then headed over to my parents!  It was such a fun day, I can't wait to have many more Christmas's with my Jake.  He is so amazing!

I've figured it's been a while, I'm bored, must catch up!

So...A LOT has happened since I last wrote.  I'll just start from where I remember haha.  Well, for starters,  November 12 was Jake's cousin Tyler's wedding.  Was a good day..until..I got in my car wreck.  I was on the highway from Wellsville to Mendon that goes by Willow Valley and a big van pulled out in front of me.  Scarriest thing I have ever been through!  I was driving, thank goodness Jake was with me.  I'm sure he wishes everytime he drives that he was that day because now, I have  HUGE driving anxiety.  I am not exaggerating!  I'm always telling him to slow down and watch out for that car.  It drives him insane!

It looks worse in person!  It did just over 6,000 dollars worth of damage,  I thank my lucky stars that my airbags did NOT go out.  It would have been a lot worse.  On the bright side...I got me a Toyota 4-Runner!  My new baby!  I love this vehicle. 

This is her!  We got such an awesome deal on it and Jake is much happier because I'm "safer" and it's four wheel drive.  That has probably been one of my biggest highlights this fall.

I just love this time of year.  It's my favorite!  For Thanksgiving we went to Jake's Grandma Nielsen's house.  My parents and my mom's mom tagged along this year so they wouldn't be alone.  It was really nice, although I just have to say I'm not a big fan of Thanksgiving.  It's just not my favorite.  I have yet to decide why, but I just don't care for it. Sorry, no pictures. 

Christmas however is coming up.  I am such a little kid when it comes to Christmas.  I love buying gifts for people and seeing their face when they get to open it.  The trouble is if I tell them what they're getting before they actually get it.  I have a hard time keeping that kind of secret, I get too excited.  I am also way excited for this year because it's me and Jake's first Christmas officially.  I mean we had Christmas together last year, but he got me a snuggie....I mean come on! ;)  I'm never gonna let him live that one down.  I'm already past the point I think where I have already spoiled him...I still have about 20 days left!  I came home one night and he was online looking at shoes, he asked me if I liked this one pair, I said yes.  He then asked me what size I was and pulled out his wallet.  He ordered them!  So I have been checking the mail everyday for the past 10 days and they finally came.  Of course I opened the box even though I probably wasn't supposed to, that's like telling Jake to clean the toilet,  It's just not going to happen!  So I tried them on, even picked out a cute outfit that would go with them, and like the responsible person I am, I wrapped them all pretty!  Jake got home and asked where his gift was..I told him I wrapped it.  He got mad because he didn't even get to see it and he bought them, so I unwrapped them and showed him and now I have to wrap them again.  I had done such a good job wrapping.  I was not that upset to try them on again though;)  I have wrapped all our presents under our tree, just about done;)

So I've been trying to lose weight..eating better and all that!  This time of year is not a good time for that, well it is, it's just ten times harder.   I was going to the Logan Rec Center, decided I didn't like that and now I'm thinking I'm just going to go back to Planet Fitness.  I liked that gym a lot!  In the mean time, I've been doing these in home workouts, they actually really are a work out.  I've been getting them off pinterest.com and I go to the fitness section, they have a lot of good recepies (that I have yet to try)  and they also have lots of motivational pictures.  If your not motivated go take a look because about twenty minutes later chances are you'll be on the floor working on something.  I keep asking Jake, if this is as good as it gets for you will that be okay.  Of course he says "Your beautiful the way you are."  How sweet..haha but it's just more than that for me!  Working out and eating healthy I just feel so much better!  They say it takes about 4 weeks for you to notice, 8 weeks for your friends to notice and 12 weeks for everyone else!  Bring it on!

I just love married life!  It is so fun, but it's hard.  Jake is such a hard worker and a lot of the times he is just so busy.  He is always doing work for others, whether it be working on other people's vehicles or helping out his family.  But, he still always puts me first!  He is such an amazing person and I am so lucky to have him.  The other night we went on a little date.  This date cost us three dollars, but it was the best night I have had with him in a VERY long time.  We went to the Pumpkin Walk!  We decided that we had nothing to do on Monday night (we considered it Family Home Evening) so we went to the gas station, got us some hot chocolate and went and parked at Greenville Elementary and rode the CVTD up to the park.  It was so so busy, we waited in line for a half hour before we got in.  A half hour is a long time when it's cold!  So, we took some pictures! ;)  We also got a few pictures of the cool scenes! Three dollar date night success!

Our Hunting Adventure

Needless to say, I will probably never go hunting with Jake again.  I'll do us both the favor and stay home. ;)  We went up Mendon Canyon late Friday night, made sure I was equiped with my hand warmers and plenty of warm clothes!  I still was very cold that night.  We woke up about 4:15 AM and hurry and got ready to go have an AWESOME hike.  We met up with two other hikers, there was five of us including Jake, myself and his brother.  One of the other guys was going to bring his ten year old son, which I was hoping he would, just so that I wasn't the only one complaining!  We started our hike, ten minutes into it I got really hot because we had the layers packed on!  I started out carrying a camelback w/ just water and snacks, binoculars, and a spotting scope.  Half way through the hike, Jake had gained all of my extra stuff..my coat, the binoculars, and the spotting scope.  I felt so bad, but I was struggling.  I had blisters starting on my heels and my legs were almost numb.  We finally reached the point where we were stopping, about .25 miles from the top, maybe not even that.  As soon as I sat down they spotted some deer and was shooting with in two minutes of reaching our "destination." Well, they shot one...AT THE TOP OF THE MOUNTAIN!  We then had to hike up further to go collect our prize.  That .25 miles was almost straight vertical rock climbing.  I have never been so frustrated in my life!  My brother in law was really amazing though.  He would hike to a certain point, put his stuff down and come back and help me and Jake, mostly me.

This was the picture that I took while we stopped to take a rest.  We were not even at the top yet.  Once we reached the top we went and looked for that deer.  We went on the other side of the mountain and found some blood spots, looked for about an hour, the trail of blood had dissappeared.  Needless to say, we never found the deer.  We then decided to just  head down the back side of this mountain.  It was heck!  We went down the mountain in a dried up canal, thinking we would avoid all of the heavy brush, but instead we faced patches of snow and a little mud.  Both me and Jake could not walk 10 ft. without falling down.  We finally made it to a horse trail and at that point walked four miles out.  My feet have never been so sore.  I could barely walk, my leg muscles were so tight, still are.  It was a great experience and I give all those hunters credit for doing it.  It is really hard work.  But really, why do they keep doing it.  It is not worth the pain!

A little bit about us..

So backing up a little bit,  on Sept. 10, 2011, I married my best friend!  That day was so crazy and hectic...it's a little bit of a blur.  I had a friend tell me that three things WILL go wrong on your wedding day, and I have to say that they did.  It rained, we forgot to get our marriage license signed, and my wedding favors did not get put out.  All in all, it was a great day! 


We left that night and stayed at the Anniversary Inn in the African Safari themed room.  The next day we drove to Park City for our week of vacation.  There we golfed, shopped, rode the Alpine Coaster and Slide, did absolutley NOTHING one day, went into Salt Lake, went on a bike ride and last but not least visited the Homestead Crater (a must see out in Midway).  We had such a good time, but it was not long enough.

Now we're back to the real world, Jake works at Moonlight Diesel and while I work at Poole and Willis Orthodontics.  I get off before he does so I'm trying to be a good wife and make him dinner, but dang it's hard.  I'm still into the simple dinners, easy stuff.  I'm not really into cooking, at least not yet.  We have been going and going since we got back from Park City,  I don't feel like we have settled down yet. 

Last weekend we went to the Little Sahara Sand Dunes with Jake's boss.  It did nothing but blow, blow, blow.  Sand everywhere, eyes, mouth and ears.  Although, we still had a good time, I'm sure Jake thinks I'm a wuss because I have yet to climb those sand hills alone.
